About

This blog is for students enrolled in DECO3200 Interactive Product Design Studio, the final studio in the Bachelor of Design Computing, at the University of Sydney. The output of this studio will form part of the Graduate Exhibition.

This semester the studio will explore interactive products, with a specific focus on health within the context of a specific health setting.  Students will participate in the entire design process from concept to completion, developing their own software and hardware as required.

Blog entries

Throughout the duration of the unit of study students are expected to participate and document the design process in weekly blog posts. Note: more marks are available for clearly documenting your process.

For all of your blog entries you must specify unikey(s) and pick a category, either Individual or your Team Name . Blog posts without category won’t be marked.

The approach to documentation should show a balance between being descriptive and reflective. Blog posts can discuss background research, sketches, designs, prototypes, changes in your concept, evaluations etc. Your blog entries will be checked continuously during the semester by your tutor.

A blog post entry must include:

  • Overview of task(s)
  • Design process details and explanation ( for example: background research insights, ideation concepts, sketches, user testing plan,…)
  • Did you change anything in your concept? (if applicable)
  • What went well and what went wrong?
  • Challenges and pending things to do
  • Reflection
  • Code excerpts, photos or short videos to complement content
  • References (if applicable)
